Mental Health Foundation to introduce new response system

The Mental Health Foundation says people experiencing extreme mental distress will be better served by a new response system to be rolled out over the next five years.

Under the scheme co-response teams will respond to 111 calls, and they’ll be comprised of mental health support workers, paramedics and police where necessary.

Mental Health Foundation chief executive Shaun Robinson spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.
