SKUAST-K conducts workshop on stress management for higher work efficacy

Srinagar, Nov 03: The SKUAST-K Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (SKIIE) Centre conducted a one-day workshop on stress management in collaboration with the Division of Agricultural Economics & Human Resource Management (HBM).
Chaired by Prof Azmat Alam Khan, OSD to the Vice Chancellor, and Prof SH Baba, Head SAE&HBM, along with senior faculty members from various divisions, the workshop aimed to raise awareness about stress management among university faculty and students.
The workshop commenced with a welcome address by Naveed Hamid, Chief Executive Officer, SKUAST-K Innovation, Incubation & Entrepreneurship Centre, followed by a keynote speech by Prof SH Baba on the significance of stress management in academic institutions. Prof Baba highlighted the prevalent stress faced by students and faculty, emphasizing the need for such sessions. He advocated for the establishment of stress management cells in every university and college.
Prof Azmat Alam Khan elaborated on stress-related issues, emphasizing that while stress is manageable up to a certain level, it becomes problematic beyond a certain threshold. He highlighted the importance of soft skills and mentioned the university’s initiative to introduce various short-term courses in this regard.
The workshop featured Sana Naqushbandi, a clinical psychologist with prior experience at AIIMS Delhi, as the expert. Naqushbandi emphasized the awareness and importance of stress management among faculties and students, delivering impactful insights that resonated with the participants. The session concluded with a Q&A segment, encouraging active participation from both faculty and students. Participants appreciated the expert’s valuable contributions to the workshop.
