One formerly homeless man is sharing how he was able to change his life and go from making nothing to £15,000 a month thanks to his fitness side hustle.
Barry O’Shea, 37, from Hull is a recovering drug addict who found his life spiral out of control at the age of 21.
During his 20s, he was in and out of jail and found himself on the streets by his early 30s with no one to turn to.
After leaving jail for shoplifting offences, Mr O’Shea went to rehab with only £14 and a bundle of clothes to his name.
Fast forward to today and the entrepreneur cites his fitness side hustle-turned-job as helping him better his life.

In May 2021, the businessman founded Bossfix Academy, an online coaching and weight loss business.
As of today, Mr O’Shea hires nine people on a contract business and trains celebrities from reality starts to models.
Originally, the enterprise began with him doing free fitness classes but this side hustle has grown to a business which offers training services to 60 people.
Clients pay anywhere between £175 to £500 a month for Mr O’Shea and his team’s services which provide fitness classes, personal training and nutritional advice.
Addressing his humble beginnings, the side hustler shared: “I lost everything. My mum wouldn’t answer the phone. I had been couch-surfing for months.
“I was sitting up on the canal at six in the morning. I had too much pride to sleep on the street.”
“I wanted to get drink or drugs but something pulled me to Hull. While I was in prison I had planned what to do.
“I thought I was good at sales and I’m good at fitness. Sales will make me lots of money, but fitness will keep me clean.”
As well as fitness, Mr O’Shea also teaches his clients about addiction recovery with certain techniques being applicable to everyone.
He added: “We encourage people to maintain human connections when you hit your target, you should go back and help someone who just started.
“My clients have membership milestones that they hit, We hold community meetings, and encourage people to keep healthy habits outside fitness.
“I believe that some of the things you learn in recovery can be applied to everyone’s life.”
