Food is an emotion for Indians so criticisms in that department would not be taken lightly. One fitness influencer got schooled by people online after he criticised chole bhature on social media.
Fitness influencer Chirag Barjatya took to X to express his opinion on one of India’s most loved chole bhature. Speaking from a health standpoint, the influencer pointed out various factors that made the dish an unhealthy choice. Barjatya asked, “I will never understand how can people eat this tala bhuna highly salted no protein meal first thing in the morning.”
Within minutes, the post garnered traction. Unsurprisingly, Barjatya’s question did not sit well with most people. Many were quick to defend chole bhature and those who preferred eating the dish. One user wrote, “Brother, take it easy. I respect you for your views, but you don’t need to necessarily criticise other ways of living to promote yours.” Another user commented, “I think we are taking health issues too far and at extremes. No one eats it every day. If one eats very very occasionally, let’s not be judgmental. Maybe once every six months.”
Meanwhile, some spoke of how they were also not keen on having the delicacy. “Even when not clean eating, I can’t eat something so loaded for breakfast,” said one. Another person commented, “It’s been 15 years I haven’t touched fried Bhatura.” One netizen stated, “Once or twice in a month is ok but definitely unhealthy making it a routine favourite.”
