JAMMU, Nov 5: The 11th Battalion of the Indian Reserve Police (IRP), joined hands with the Rotary Club Bengaluru and the Social Welfare Department, to organize an innovative program designed to address critical issues related to mental health, responsible phone use, and stress management.
The program targeted police personnel within the unit, students from various schools, and the social welfare center in Anantnag.
This comprehensive initiative, tailored to the specific needs of these two distinct groups, aims to enhance overall well-being and create healthier work and study environments.
In his opening remarks, SSP Sandeep Mehta, CO IRP 11th Battalion, emphasized the increasing challenges of mental health, responsible phone usage, and stress management in today’s fast-paced world.
He highlighted the necessity of implementing strategies and techniques to mitigate these issues. The program’s goal is to equip police personnel and students with the knowledge and tools necessary to effectively navigate these challenges in their daily lives.
The keynote speaker for the event was Dr Padmakshi Lokesh, a trained psychologist and stress management specialist.
In her address, she focused on promoting mental health awareness, reducing stigma, and providing strategies for recognizing and managing stress, anxiety, and depression. Dr Padmakshi also emphasized responsible phone use in an age where smartphones are integral to daily life. She emphasized setting boundaries and avoiding digital addictions to enhance overall well-being.
Participants were instructed in stress management techniques, including mindfulness, time management, and healthy coping strategies, to improve their ability to handle the pressures of their respective roles.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Deputy Commanding Officer (DyCO) of the Battalion, expressing gratitude for the valuable insights and guidance provided during the event.
