Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski’s diet chart may very well surprise others. After all, one hardly eats dessert before the main meal. Well, the Polish international does exactly that, or to be precise he used to do that. An article published by The Guardian had revealed Lewandowski’s quite unique diet. Lewandowski insisted on eating his dessert first. Then the starters. The main course, quite surprisingly, came last. The article went on to claim that the former Bayern Munich star intended to metabolise the sweet foods, which digest faster, first to avoid those mix in his stomach with the protein and carbohydrates which woould come next.
Having consulted a sleep therapist, Lewandowski decided to sleep on his left side in a bid to safeguard his comparatively stronger right foot.
Robert Lewandowski’s former Poland teammate Thiago Cionek had shared his thoughts on the Barcelona goal scorer’s special diet chart. “He is a guy who is hungry to improve as a player, and for that reason, he has a special diet that his wife gives him. She is a nutritionist and is well known in Poland. Robert even told me that the big change in his career, when he reached the elite clubs and in the national team, was when he radically changed what he ate,” Cionek told ESPN, as per Sportbible.
“On game day, he eats a lot of protein. And there is always tuna for breakfast. He also avoids anything with gluten and lactose. The day before playing, after dinner, he still finishes off with a bowl of rice pudding to fill the body with carbohydrates and glucose to play the next day. Then, in recovery, there are lots of vegetables and avocado,” Cionek added.

Having capped off a stellar career in Bayern Munich, Lewandowski completed his move to Barcelona in July last year. He has so far netted 39 goals having made 54 appearances for the Catalan giants. The 35-year-old registered 23 goals and seven assists during the last La Liga campaign. He has so far recorded five goals and three assists in this season’s Spanish domestic league.
Robert Lewandowski recently became just the third footballer, after Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, to score 100 goals in European tournaments. He achieved this sensational feat during Barcelona’s Champions League opener against Belgian outfit Royal Antwerp FC earlier this month.
