The special investigation team (SIT0 formed to probe the bone-chilling October 28 incident, questioned the ayurveda doctor to know more about Solanki’s mental state. Solanki was engaged in the furniture-making business and had around 35 carpenters and labourers working for him.
Manish had last consulted this doctor in May.
Deputy commissioner of police (zone -5) RP Barot, who is heading the SIT, told TOI: “As we came to know that Solanki was consulting an ayurvedic doctor, we called him to get more details. Solanki had been taking treatment for stress and sleeplessness since last year”
Police also recorded statements of clients who had given contracts to Solanki. The call detail records (CDR) of his phone revealed that the maximum calls he made were to his clients, dealers, and staffers. The last call was made on Friday 8pm, a day before the extreme step.
Police are likely to take the statements of Solanki’s relatives on Tuesday as they are busy with the post-death rituals. “We are hopeful of getting more information on Solanki’s state of mind after talking to his relatives,” said a police official.
Meanwhile, investigators are still awaiting the postmortem report of Solanki’s mother Shobhna, and his elder daughter on whose body injury marks were found.
