Fitness influencer Kayla Itsines recalls meeting a fan who was shocked to see her eating pasta at a restaurant: ‘I’m not here to push a diet’

Kayla Itsines is known for her incredible figure and healthy approach to life. 

But the fitness influencer admits she has cheat days, but that fact appears to have shocked one of her fans. 

The 32-year-old told the Sydney Morning Herald this weekend that she encountered one of her admirers during a night out at a New York restaurant where she was eating a calorific dinner. 

‘This lady came up to me and she put her hands on my shoulder and she said, “Hi, I love you so much.” Then she was like, “Oh my god, are you eating pasta?!”‘ she said. 

‘I was like, “Do people think I don’t eat pasta? Have I portrayed this?”‘

Kayla went on to explain that she doesn’t want women to think they need to restrict themselves. 

‘My mission is just to make women feel good through working out,’ she says. 

‘I’m not here to push a diet on them. I’m not going to push anything other than let’s just do a good workout in a small amount of time. 

‘If I can make you feel better, then my job is done.’  

Itsines is preparing to tie the knot with her fiancé Jae Woodroffe following a two-year engagement.

Jae and Lauren are believed to have started dating in 2016, as indicated by loved-up Instagram photos posted by Lauren at the time.

In January 2022, Kayla finally debuted Jae on her Instagram page, uploading a photo of the pair cuddling alongside a caption describing him as her ‘best friend for years and now partner’.

The relationship announcement also came almost two years after Kayla confirmed her split from ex-fiancé Tobi Pearce in August 2020. 

The former couple co-founded the Bikini Body Training Company after meeting in late 2012.

They were later ranked joint fifth on the Australian Financial Review’s Young Rich List in 2018, making them the wealthiest self-made twenty-somethings in Australia.

Kayla and Tobi share custody of their daughter Arna, four. Kayla also welcomed her first child with Jae, a boy named Jax, in January.
