Elon Musk’s father has slammed a bombshell report that his son is on drugs to deal with his stressful life and alleged mental health issues.
Retired South African politician Errol Musk, 77, called the report written by The New Yorker about his tech billionaire son Elon ‘utter BS [bulls**t]’ that is filled with ‘blatant inaccuracies.’
The in-depth analysis on the Tesla CEO claimed that Musk’s ‘erratic behavior’ is linked to his ‘efforts to self-medicate’ as he navigates the ‘unrelenting stress’ that makes his life simply ‘suck.’
Errol Musk also said that when his son went on Joe Rogan’s podcast and infamously smoked pot, he only did the drug because he didn’t want to seem ‘prudish.’
Asked about the article, Errol told The U.S. Sun: ‘It’s a very worrying hit job on Elon, filled with blatant inaccuracies.

‘Subject to the same scrutiny, 99.9 percent of those who view Elon in the light of this article would be condemned outright as a danger to society.
‘The speculation that Elon has mental health issues and may be self-medicating with Ambien and ketamine is more hitting on him for made-up reasons to score points for the ‘liberals’.
‘What is suggested is utter BS. From start to finish.
‘We are people who cannot stomach alcohol, are completely averse to smoking, and are almost totally averse to medications, including drugs of any sort.’
As well as calling the report ‘nonsense from top to bottom,’ the dad added: ‘The Joe Rogan thing caught Elon off balance.

‘Not wanting to look prudish on such a show, he took the puff, which experts said did not include inhaling, thank heavens, as Elon would have coughed the show to a close.’
Much of The New Yorker’s piece, titled Elon Musk’s Shadow Rule, was based on claims from his friends and associates.
The report said: ‘Associates suggested that Musk’s use has escalated in recent years, and that the drug, alongside his isolation and his increasingly embattled relationship with the press, might contribute to his tendency to make chaotic and impulsive statements and decisions.’
Elon Musk himself wrote about the report and its author: ‘Tragic that Ronan Farrow is a puppet of the establishment and against the people.’
In 2017, Musk hinted that he uses a sleep disorder treatment Ambien with alcohol: ‘A little red wine, vintage record, some Ambien … and magic!’
And towards the end of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast in 2018, the host lit a ‘cigar’ rolled with both tobacco and marijuana – a drug which is legal in the state of California – and offered it to Musk.
‘You probably can’t do this because of stockholders, right?,’ Rogan asks Musk.
Musk, who earlier joked that mushrooms – both a harmless fungi and an psychedelic drug – are ‘delicious’, clarified that the drug is legal, and was seen taking a puff on the joint before handing it back.
‘I’m not a regular smoker of weed. Almost never,’ he told Rogan.
‘I don’t actually notice any effect. I know a lot of people like weed, and that’s fine, however I don’t find it’s very good for productivity.’
Earlier this year, Musk was reportedly taking ketamine to manage depression, according to his friends.
The Wall Street Journal said that the Twitter CEO had been seen using the drug, a known anesthetic.
Musk is said to have told people he microdoses ketamine for depression and takes full doses while at parties.
He also tweeted: ‘Depression is overdiagnosed in the US, but for some people it really is a brain chemistry issue.
‘But zombifying people with SSRIs for sure happens way too much. From what I’ve seen with friends, ketamine taken occasionally is a better option.’
Musk had been referring to selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) which are the most commonly prescribed antidepressants.
They treat depression by increasing levels of serotonin in the brain and are also sometimes used to treat anxiety disorders.
Microdosing – taking a small amount of a drug for alleged mental health benefits – is widespread in Silicon Valley.
