Boney Kapoor Reveals Sridevi Was On Extreme Diet Plan: Often Used To Starve And Had Low BP
February 28, 2018 was hard on the fans of Bollywood actress Sridevi, the sudden news of her demise came as a shock to everyone, even her own family. The actress was in her hotel room in Dubai at the time of her death. When the cause of death of the actress was revealed to be accidental drowning, the fans were having a hard time digesting the death of the favourite diva. After years of silence, Boney Kapoor has now finally opened up about some unknown facts around Sridevi’s death. He even revealed that the actress was in constant pressure to look good on the screen due to which was on some extreme diet plans.
Boney Kapoor on Sridevi’s death
In a recent interview with New Indian, Boney Kapoor shed light on Sridevi’s brutal diet which even caused her to blood pressure to fall to dangerous levels. He said, “She often used to starve; she wanted to look good. She wanted to make sure she’s in good shape, so that on-screen, she looks good. From the time she was married to me, she had blackouts on a couple of occasions, and the doctor kept on saying she had a low BP issue.”
Boney Kapoor even noted that he had to undergo extreme police questioning for 2 days straight, following the death of the actress, as it was an accidental death and the authorities were under a lot of pressure from the media. He was put through several tests, including a lie detector test, and the police discovered that there was no foul play involved.

Adding to his statement, Boney Kapoor also stated that when the South Indian superstar Nagarjuna had come to visit their residence to offer condolences after her death, he told the producer that the actress had fainted before as well. It was unfortunate. Later, when she passed away. Nagarjuna had come home to offer his condolences, and he told me that during one of her movies, she was again on a crash diet, and that’s how she fell in the bathroom and broke her teeth,” Boney said.
