Bebika Dhurve emerged as one of the top 5 contestants of Bigg Boss OTT 2. Ahead of the finale, she was unfortunately eliminated and her close friend Abhishek Malhan emerged as the first runner-up of this season. Bebika was undoubtedly one of the strong contenders who never minced her words and took a stand for herself. Apart from Pooja Bhatt, Bebika Dhurve shared a close bond with Abhishek Malhan. They had some really ugly fights but were also friends sometimes.
The actress was often ridiculed by fellow contestants in the house and even Abhishek was sometimes a part of such conversations. In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Bebika opened up about being body-shamed by Abhishek. She also recalled others calling her mentally ill and her ugly spat with Manisha.
Bebika Dhurve on Abhishek Malhan body-shaming her
The Bigg Boss contestant shared her thoughts on it and said, “I feel that the body-shaming by actors, is very minute and petty compared to the inspiration I am putting ahead. A lot of women are getting inspired by me. They are messaging me and spreading so much love. You know Pooja Bhatt said, she is not size zero type body by mind, by heart, or any way. So, all those women out there are getting inspired. That inspiration is way bigger than this downtrodden body shaming so I don’t want to let it affect me.”
On people telling her she has mental illness
Reacting to such claims, Bebika expressed her disappointment. She told us, “That was a false narrative they were trying to put forward. Salman Khan took a stand for me on this and cleared the air. I was being complimented by saying that I am unusual but you cannot call anybody mentally ill or something with no psychological qualification. The ones who were trying to spread such a narrative got eliminated. I was very disappointed that Abhishek was also a part of it. It is because I was good friends with him since the beginning. I felt very bad seeing how he got involved with others and made fun of me.”
About Manisha being insecure
Bebika and Manisha were at loggerheads in the house. Talking about whether Manisha was insecure of her, Bebika said, “I don’t think I fight intentionally. If I had a fight with anyone in the house, there was a strong reason behind it. Manisha ka nature aisa hai ki wo ek side apna bigg boss me dikhana chahti thi. Saare sides nahi dikhana chahti thi (I feel Manisha was not willing to show her personality effortlessly in the house). I was not scared of anything. If you think you can survive in that house without indulging in a feud, then you are becoming unreal. I feel except for me and Pooja Bhatt, no one was real in that house.”
