Got no time to take hours of therapy? Here are 4 one minute mindfulness techniques to keep your mental health in check:
1) Breathing
Pause, take a minute and just focus on your breathing. Breathe in and out as you normally would but notice the time between each inhalation and exhalation. Do not let your mind wander. This exercise will bring you a lot of peace.

Walking is something that all of us do every day. But have you ever done mindful walking? Just for a minute, slower your speed, pay attention to your steps and become aware of the sensations in the soles of your feet as you walk. You don’t have to look down at your feet but if you feel that you are getting distracted, use contact of your feet with the floor to bring your mind back and let it concentrate.
Don’t we just eat our food in a lot of rush these days? You must practice mindfulness while eating too. Sit down calmly to eat, notice your food, chew it properly and notice its texture, smell and taste. Not only will this connect you with your food but also relieve you of many health issues.

4) Mindful listening
Isn’t spending time in nature a great activity for mental health as it is? Take out a minute in your busy day and listen to the sounds in your environment. You don’t need to know the origin of those sounds. Just absorb the experience of hearing so many different sounds at once, especially when you are out in a garden or a park. Your ears will bless you.
Mindfulness has the power to change the way you relate to different experiences. It makes you calmer and strengthens you power of concentration. It also gives a boost to the mental health as you are better adept to handle situations with a peaceful mind. So, start practising mindfulness today.
